Mauritius Residency

Mauritius residency is available through several routes for eligible non-citizens who wish to live, work, invest or retire in the country. The appropriate route depends on the applicant's purpose, proposed activity, personal circumstances and the requirements in force at the time of application.

Routes to residence in Mauritius

Depending on the circumstances, potential routes may include:

  • Investor Occupation Permit for an eligible non-citizen establishing or investing in a qualifying Mauritius business;
  • Professional Occupation Permit for an eligible non-citizen taking qualifying employment with a Mauritius employer;
  • Self-Employed Occupation Permit for an eligible person carrying on an approved professional or business activity on their own account;
  • Residence Permit for a retired non-citizen; and
  • Residence for eligible dependants, subject to the conditions applying to the principal permit holder and each dependant.

Other residence or visa routes may be relevant in particular circumstances. Eligibility criteria, financial thresholds, supporting documents, government charges, validity periods and renewal requirements can change, so the current position should be confirmed before an applicant makes commitments.

How Titan can assist

Titan Corporate Services Limited assists international clients with company formation, business structuring and ongoing corporate administration that may form part of a planned move to Mauritius. Where specialist residence or immigration advice is required, we can coordinate with experienced advisers.

Our support may include forming an appropriate Mauritius company, providing registered-office and company-secretarial services, maintaining corporate records, handling agreed accounting and statutory filings, and coordinating suitable legal, tax, immigration or other specialist support.

The permit application and the corporate work are related but distinct. Establishing or owning a Mauritius company does not by itself give an individual the right to live or work in Mauritius.

Important information

Residence and occupation permits are granted only by the competent Mauritian authorities. Approval, processing time and permit duration cannot be guaranteed. Applicants should confirm the latest official requirements before making travel, employment, investment or relocation decisions.

Current general information is available from the Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office and the Economic Development Board of Mauritius.
